The fees for our program are $325.00 per participant, per season. Included with the fees are our annual field trip to a play, Winter showcase production, Final production, and a wrap-up party for participants. Costumes, props, and make-up are also included. We require a $250 bond check that is returned once the 5 hour volunteer requirement is fulfilled by a parent/guardian of the participant.
There are two main ways to register a participant in the Langdon Theatre Association Program. You can download the current form from our website and email it to our Chairperson, or you can attend out Annual General Meeting that takes place the second Monday of September each year and fill out a registration form in person.
Langdon Theatre is currently located in the Southern Alberta Hamlet of Langdon. This year we are running our program at, The Track Golf Course Main Hall.
The Langdon Theatre Association has an annual season that runs from September to April each year. With the exception of the two week Winter break in December, it is held every Monday evening between 6:00pm-9:15pm, with start times depending on the group each participant is placed in.
Langdon Theatre Association is a Youth Theatre group which requires them to be between the ages of 7-17. We ask that participants are able to read in English.
Although Class sizes do vary from year to year, we do have a maximum of 50 participants per season, to allow for class sizes to stay at a reasonable size, usually between 10-15 per group. We have 2 Instructors that teach two classes each, per Monday evening.
The Langdon Theatre Association is here for the youth of Langdon as a recreational activity. While, yes it does provide amazing theatrical training and techniques, the ultimate goal is to provide life skills for these youth in their everyday lives outside of sports, school and other activities. It is not competitive and each participant will have a role, whether it be on stage or behind the scenes if they wish, when they are registered in our program. No need to 'break-a-leg' here.
