What are the fees for the Langdon Theatre Association?

The fees for our program are $325.00 per participant, per season. Included with the fees are our annual field trip to a play, Winter showcase production, Final production, and a wrap-up party for participants. Costumes, props, and make-up are also included. We also require a $250 bond payment that is returned at the end of the season (April), once the 5-hour volunteer requirement is fulfilled by a parent or guardian of the participant.

How do I register my child for Langdon Theatre Association?

There are two main ways to register. You can download the current registration form from our website and email it to our Chairperson, or you can attend our Annual General Meeting held each September and fill out a registration form in person.

What age groups does the Langdon Theatre Association serve?

LTA is a youth theatre program for participants between the ages of 7 and 17. We ask that participants are able to read in English.

Where is the Langdon Theatre Association program located?

Langdon Theatre Association is located in the Southern Alberta Hamlet of Langdon. Our weekly program is currently held at The Track Golf Course Main Hall.

What is the duration of the program and when does it run?

Our annual season runs from September to April. With the exception of the two-week Winter break in December, classes are held every Monday evening. Groups 1 & 2 run from 6:00pm–7:30pm and Groups 3 & 4 run from 7:45pm–9:15pm.

What are the class sizes?

Class sizes vary from year to year, but we have a maximum of 50 participants per season. Groups are typically between 10–15 participants each. We have 2 instructors who each teach two classes per Monday evening.

Does my child need to audition?

No auditions required! LTA is a recreational youth theatre program — not a competitive one. Every registered participant will have a role, whether on stage or behind the scenes. No need to "break a leg" just to join.

Where do final productions take place?

Our productions are held at Bert Church Live Theatre, which provides a wonderful professional venue for our young performers.

Does LTA offer summer camps?

While LTA does not currently run its own summer camps, we recommend Hopscotch Productions in Calgary — run by our own Technical Director, Heather Faye. They offer 1-week themed camps for youth ages 8–12.

When is the AGM?

Our Annual General Meeting takes place each September. All are welcome — it's a great opportunity to register your child in person and meet the LTA team.

How can I volunteer or get involved?
